Today has been a tough one. George had a meltdown that lasted over an hour because he just didn’t understand why he couldn’t visit Grandma and Grandad. He was crying and saying “but I MUST go to Grandma’s. PLEASE take me to Grandma’s, I BET YOU…” (he’s obviously heard somebody on TV say “I beg you” and misheard it - cute). I also ended up having a meltdown myself and we both cried and hugged each other for a long time – I think I needed it as much as he did! Eventually he calmed down when I took him for a ride on his scooter to feed the ducks.

I once saw this photo on Facebook. I thought of this picture today – as we were out on our walk, he cheerily shouted “hello, are you good today?” to every person we passed (at a reasonable distance of course) and turned to me and said “I’m a very chatty boy aren’t I mum?”

Heart. Melted.
