Long time since I've posted!
George had his first "Fun With Food" session with the Play Specialist at the hospital this morning - the latest in a LONG line of professionals I've been passed around regarding his eating disorder (which IS an eating disorder called ARFID even though nobody wants to help me or diagnose him). It went really well considering for the first few minutes he wouldn't look at the Play Specialist, and every time she asked him to do something he said "no thank you please." She did manage to talk him round and he did then go on to do everything she asked so we were pleased with the first session. We'll see how the rest go! Not expecting him to be eating a three course dinner by the end of the six sessions but I'll take any tiny amount of progress as a win. He's eating barely anything at home any more. For over a week now he's eaten nothing in the mornings, his small packed lunch at school (which consists of a pot of dry Cheerios, two packs of Carrot Stix (crisps), a smoothie and two Fruit Winders), and all he's eaten in the evenings is a packet of prawn crackers from a particular Chinese takeaway in Bollington. Nothing else. Not eaten Cheerios, Carrot Stix or Nice Biscuits at home at all which are his only other accepted/"safe" foods. It's extremely worrying as you can imagine. I think because his bloods were fine (God knows how....) and he's not underweight I'm not being taken seriously.
Anyway.....!
Came across this video on my phone earlier - it was from a few weeks back when some mates were sharing cute Snapchat videos of their kids via our WhatsApp group. I got out my phone and asked George if we could do a Snapchat video and this was the result.
It started off so nicely.....
